Is this Flatout?

Only been to the Ring a couple of times, but it definitely helped to have driven it on the PS2/Xbox in terms of having an idea of where you are on the track. The circuit in GT5 is good, although I'm not sure it's any more accurate than GT4 or Forza.

Flatout - should have moved over and lifted to let the M3 past!

Yep that was me. This clip was taken at Snett back in 2008 when the car was pretty much stock apart from the exhaust. The M3 was quite modded up (brakes, suspension etc..) compared to mine so i was pleased i kept him at bay on the straight.

Saw him again this year May 09 at the Ring :poke: :driving: :driving: . The Z's game had moved on !!

Here's a clip of my last Ring trip in Oct 10 with few CSLs

Why are you lying out of your ass for mate. That video was taken on the 28th April 2010 and you were still a crap driver, and bad mannered on track, for not moving out the way for the faster car/driver.
"i dont move out the way for no one" is what you said.

You also use traction control on track. Get some lessons, and listen to the briefing at the beginning of a track day.

Your car weighs, what about 1400kgs? Compared to the M3s 1520kgs. You only edge away from the M3, because he is moving to the left side to overtake, hence travelling a longer distance, plus the fact that the z4m is at a higher speed starting the straight, due to being in front. If 2 cars with the exact same performace was to be racing, the car in front will always have the edge, and the car behind would have to catch up with the momentum by using slip stream. For example, If the car in front is doing 70mph as he exits the corner, the car behind at that exact time is probably only still doing 65mph, hence he has catching up to do. Common sense.

I should just point out, i am not the driver of the car, but i know the guy very well. I was also at the track day on the 28th April 2010, and also the year before, when this flatout guy refused to move out of the way for over 5 laps, with me flashing him on every straight. In the end, i pitted, as i just got bored. It was like sitting behind a fiesta on the fast lane of a motorway doing 50mph.

You need to understand, whilst you have traction control on, you are slower than all the cars on the track around the corners.

Kings, you may have a point and if you have the skills to match your barn storming approach you'll be a great addition to the forum  But publicly slamming someone like that in your first few posts  Maybe you just like to tell it like it is. I do find the accusation about the video dates as odd - Flatout doesn't seem the type to do something like that, but I wasn't at the track, I'm just going on having met the man.

Definitely want to get on the track this year, if I can... I'm sure I'd definitely give you something to write about

My apologies, if that came out a bit strong :D

I don't know any of the people involved and probably should keep my nose out of it but steady on guys. If you have a beef with someone sort it out privately.

Hi Baris, just as subtle as always and I see you're still banging your drum about Thorney Motorsport. Why don't you try a slightly less hostile approach, it's quite polite on here although I can see you've got ambitions to change that already. I know you've spent a lot of money at tuners and feel bitter at some of the results but you can get that across without making things personal.

well said, this forum is all about helping and supporting each other

My mate told me about this thread, so i thought i would join up and say i am pleased the video gets some airtime on this forum. One of my favourite videos, as I love the bit, when we both get to the corner, and blip down  This Z4 is fantastic. R888s, coilovers, BBks, Recaros Poles same as mine, light weight wheels. Sick track car.

I can confirm, this was on the 28th April 2010. I specifically booked that day for a track, as it was my bday! :driving:

Here is the car in question btw.

Oh dear, it appears I was wrong about Kings being Baris.

Sorry Baris, Igotstyle, XKaLiBaR, Kings. You've got a lot of great information to share but you just can't change your posting style and targets. Remember we've seen it all before on Mtorque, M3torque and now I've read it on M3cutters. Don't make a fool of yourself by appearing schizophrenic, as I said you've spent a lot of money on cars and have had good and bad results from different tuners. How about just sharing that in a civilised manner, I for one am interested in what you've got to say.

Hi King, welcome to the forum.

Not sure who you are so won't really say much more than has already been said above. 2008 was my first TD at snett so maybe was overwhelmed by the whole thing. Myself and Baris have chatted a few times since, more recently at the ring this year and all seems well in my view. All the best.
