Is this a good deal?

This is the car I'm looking to get.

Basically it's a BMW garage Pre Reg ona 08 plate, registered end July 2008 - currently has 17 Miles on the clock (17 not 17,000) 2.0 SE

The garage hhad it on for £24,995 - reduced to £16,490. What do you guys reckon of this? Good price, I was a bit worried it was reduced so low because something was wrong with it but they've assured me there isnt.

Also wasnt sure if there was a 'facelift' a while ago, if there was is this the newst model out at the mo. Would appreciate anyones advice.

Get te VIN off the windscreen and get a BMW dealer to check its origin.

My view - 2.0 is still one hell of a car. Beats a more expensive MX5 or MR2 any day.

The only duff engine from BMW that I am aware of was the 2003 320d which blew turbos and swallowed inlet manifold parts. The rest are great.

My 325 now has 164k on it - still pulls like a train (but doesn't smoke like one!)

Sounds like a steal.

That is the latest and greatest version. Facelift was in 06.

Just make sure its not one of the ones brought over from the far east.

What? :idunno: All Z4's were built in the same place. is there a problem with some made for Asian markets finding their way to the UK?

Before leaping into the purchase I would test drive a 2.0 alongside a 2.5 or 3.0 You'll know immediately if a 4 cyl or the 6 is what you want.

Although the price is good for a new car the moment you drive it out the door it's a 1 year old car with low mileage, so think in those terms on price. Added to that this appears short on any extras - Sat Nav, MFSW, heated seats, cruise control, sport button, others??

no leather either ...

Wasn't sure on the leather so skipped that as a comment, but that would make resale rather hard.

I would not say it was not a good deal, but it depends on what you want. It's one of the most basic Z4's I've seen and so the price probably reflects that.

A 2 minute review of Ebay sales with no real research throws up many in that price:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2007-BMW-Z4-P...3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:3|39:1|240:1318

This caught my eye at that price range (£1000 more as listed) : 2007 2.5, red leather, ///M seats and suspension, ///M MFSW, sport button, etc.

hi mate you must drive a 3.0 first even at that price, you can get a nearly new one for about 14 grand and it will blow you mind . the 2 ltr is slow man really slow !!!.

It's also a Si which is eveb neter than the standard 2.5
