Is this 3.0si a se spec or sport?

Cheers Mark - I used to travel to Chesterfield loads a few years ago, though not anymore... It's a long old journey. The interior isn't perfect, but it's not abused in any way, and I did the seat bolster today, looks ace

I'm just chancing my arm wherever I can, I hope you find the one for you

Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport. Sport.

When we bought ours I seem to remember the chap saying auto trader defaulted to SE - I checked with local BMW garage and they gave me the original build sheet stating SPORT.

Worth checking but 90% Sport

Ok, Just been on a part ex site and popped a few reg plates in...

2006 3.0si sport...came back sport!

2008 3.0si SE...came back SE!

This car YB57UVO...came back 3.0si CABRIO!

So is sports spec just the firmer springs like I know mine has?

Sport suspension has harder (lower) springs, stiffer dampers and thicker anti roll bars

Can i do a visual check for these?

Unless you have a sport model and SE parked next to each other, it's almost impossible to tell.

Blue paint stripes on the springs is a strong indicator of sports springs. But then BMW changed the paint codes and made them green like the SE springs :headbang:

Pop into your local BMW dealership in Chesterfield and give them the reg for a build sheet. Let me know if you can't get it and I will get Stafford Knights to sort it - I had exactly the same issue and they helped me .... good people at Stafford

Cheers guys, that's absolutely fantastic... I got the VIN number today from the seller. Going to see the the car Tuesday, hopefully I will finally own a Z4, I've been waiting patiently

Just a question off topic but what is best practise when buying from private seller regarding payment? Transfer money straight into the account, will the seller have instant visibility of the transfer? or bankers draught?

To note....I'm am really happy with the spec of the car, just hope the condition is as good.

When I sell mine I will want either cleared funds in my account before I hand over the keys, or cold hard cash. And I'd prefer the former....

Most banks don't offer the 2hr (in reality, instant) transfer option for anything above about 3k, so any transfer the buyer makes will take about 24 hours to appear in the sellers account. You can speak to your bank to inform them of the imminent transfer, and some will make special provision for it to be instant, but you're better of with a bankers draught or getting the buyer to pay a day in advance if collecting (requires trust though!). Failing that, nothing quite like cold hard cash
