ok folks.ive been cleaning and resealing the roof today,when id finished i was giving the rear window a clean off and noticed that if i look down at the passenger side i can see the roof motor!am i missing a cover of some sort? cheers
 
You can see the metal motor case with vent holes in the bottom? It's supposed to have an insulating enclosure, someone probably had the motor fail and decided it's less likely to fail if there's nothing to hold the water in. There may be something to the theory, but not letting water accumulate is even a better deterrent.
 
hi,thanks for the reply,no my motor still has the plastic case around it,but i can see it through the back window,i thought i may be missing some kind of trim?
 
I haven't tried that angle, and I'm away from the car right now so cannot confirm. I doubt there's anything missing. The motor can be seen if you find just the right angle, sounds like you found another one! (new to me anyway)
