Is there something missing in my boot!

Hi all

Noticed the other day that I have a small piece of plastic trim which looks like a roof stop on the right side, but not on the left side and wondered if I am missing one, pics below.

I am not an e89 owner, but is that a switch in the first picture ? Could be a micro-switch to confirm the roof is down and in place ?
 
it doesn't look like a switch just a piece of shaped plastic presumably for a piece of the roof mechanism to sit into when its down.
 
Have you pushed it to see if it moves ? If it doesn't I have no clue, sorry :(
 
I have one either side so yes you're missing a bit! It is indeed a rubber bump stop for the roof, either side. It just clips in so probably been knocked out. Having said that, mines stayed put for 4 years... if its new or an AUC car ask them to put it back in for you if you bought it that way. If it has no warranty at all, then you should just be able to buy the part and click it in.
 
thanks for your replies, had a quick look under the carpet trim and found it down the hole! must have been knocked off!
 
Lol - I should have magnified my screen, the shiny bits on the edges looked like holes through the metal plate. Glad you sorted it :thumbsup:
 
I stuck some little rubber pads on these to help reduce all the knocking noises with the roof down. Definetly a contact point.
