Is there a market for used runflats

As per my other thread I'm planning to remove the runflat tyres.

The thing is the last owner just put pair of new Pirelli runflats on the rear only a few months ago and it'b be shame to bin them, not to mention if they have any value it'll offset the tyre replacement cost. Is there is a market for used runflats?

Hi, they do sell to those who like to keep the car standard but they have to be cheap

I've seen them sell on here in the past, but as Smartbear says they probably need to be cheap. But any contribution towards the cost of your new tyres has to be a bonus!

Why not just give it a try on here once they're off - you've got a Z4 owning audience, and the advert is free? :lol:

Remember tho, if the car is to be traded to a main Dealer, he will insist on standard rubber or knock a shed load off the price!
If that's unlikely then get rid for whatever you can get.

I changed my Bridgestone runflats a few weeks ago for Goodyear non-runflats. Had my MOT at the dealer last week.....correctly measured the tyres at 8mm on all readings but didn't notice they were not Bridgestones!

They will only twist about it if you are trading in - A previous E85 was MOT'd and not a word but when I looked at trading in they jumped on the non runlet waggon.

I’ve changed my tyres on the 1 series convertible and the Z4 to non run flats and both went to a main dealer. It wasn’t mentioned doing the deal, didn’t change the trade in value and when they went up on the site it mentioned that they were non run flat tyres. Possibly something to do with BMW actually offering both run flat and non run flat wheels and tyres across the range and well M cars don’t come with run flats for good reason.

I've just bought some second hand rear ones potenza runflats because my fronts were almost new and it seemed rather expensive to replace all with non runflats (the rears are 255/30/19's).

It wasn't that easy to get good ones on ebay (I didn't want any with puncture repairs which are cheaper) and most wanted lots of money for "good" ones. I've ended up with two about half price, but also then found some tyre shops aren't keen to fit them (one took out a torch and was trying to find even the smallest imperfection on the bead). .. but they're now on and when these have worn out I'll be joining the non run flat group! Worth posting them on here on the for sale section but I know they can be difficult to shift here.
