Is there a DIY for rear arch liner removal?

I’ve done a search, looked on YouTube but can’t find anything. Got some dirty rust bubbles where the rear quarter meets the sills. Wanna stop it before it gets worse.

Its just a matter of removing all the fixings that hold it in and wrestling it out, you should be able to see all the fastenings with the wheel removed. When it comes to refitting it I found mine once reintroduced into the arch it fell into place and the fixings were put back in to hold it in place. Might be prudent to have some replacement fixings to hand in case you mangle any getting them out.

replacement fittings are required now at this age. the 10mm especially. you can get away with it on the 8mm but you may as well do them too.

Managed to get all the fasteners off, but just couldn't get the arch liner to come out. Those plastic 11mm sockets are a Pita as they're not normal 11mm, normal spanner worked but socket was too big.

Just read it says 10mm but my 10mm wouldn't go over those nuts

I had to use a rubber mallet on a 10mm over the nut to get them on both sides. It's actually made of plastic so I'm thinking it has expanded with time by a fraction.

Both of them cracked also.

Would be great to find out the part number but I couldn't be bothered checking as I got them both back on and don't plan on touching them for a while.

When I removed the liners I was amazed at the number of different fasteners that BMW had dreamt up to do such a simple task.
