Is the CCV a routine maintenance item ?

the Z goes in tomorrow for its MOT + a coolant/anti-freeze change as there is no record of this being done & best to have the right stuff in :|
Have also read on here & other BMW related sites about the crank case breather valve .
at 90k covered (3.0 si) should this be having a spot of therapy or be left alone ?
