Is sound generator on a 2.5 going to bug me?

From videos I've looked at the growl seems to kick in from about 3000rpm. I'm guessing in a 6 speed 3.0 that means about 80-85mph on the motorway? However on my puny 2.5 5 speed I'm regularly cruising at about 4000rpm. Will it just be annoying even with the foam in? If only it could be linked to the sport button!!
 
Are you going to retro fit it? It was standard on 3.0 motors, but needs to retro fitted on 2.5s etc.

At cruising speed - you don't really notice it regardless of revs. It's only when the throttle is open wide that you notice it :thumbsup:
 
Yeah planning to retrofit as I find the car far too quiet during spirited driving at the moment! (I'm used to an RX8 screaming at 9000rpm!). Sounds safe to go ahead - thanks.
 
The 3.0 will growl like a bitch at any speed if you push it right.

As Mowflow said to me when I bought my Z, it really does have two personalities you can drive it nice and gentle or drive it like a beast, it's all to do with that right foot of yours more then anything. So yeah, go for it IMO, you'll only really hear it when you want to.
