Is Running In Service M Specific Only?

As per the title really. I have tried searching for the service schedules and other non M engines do not specify the running in service. Is this applicable to M only?

yes, its not applicable to non M cars

It's only done in M cars as they had to change out the oil that is specifically used for running the engine in, replacing it with the 10w60 oil used for normal running.
