Is our alarm system thatcham approved

Insurance companies ! PAH !!

Took a new policy for the X3 that i recently aquired.
A reasonable £329.-- so paid (Not the monthly dooda)

First they asked for driveing licence no. and a DVLA check code. Which i got and supplied.
One week later they said Checker code does not work. Eh? I copied and pasted i.
So got another and supplied.

Now they ask for proof of NCD. How do i do that. Not ever have i had a policy quoting what NCB i have earnt ?
I have sent them 2 seperate images of 2 recent policies, one with Direct line the other with Ageas.

In the meantime they are threatening me with cancelling the policy, great, fine by me but i would have
to declare this with any future insurance enquiries (I beleive) that i have had canceled insurance.

I just looked at cancelling with them myself, but of course this now after the 14 day cooling off period.
So i can only claim 60% refund on what i paid up front.

They also ask for declared anual millage proof. FFS !. Nowhere on there sire is there anywhere to input this so
have filled in a "contact us" form. Including this starting Milage. I guess they are hoping to shaft me at renewal time
when i exceed the 3000 declared, feckers. Also added some prime comments about NCD and driving licence issue
and the "threat" to me of cancellation. (Copied all into an email and sent that as well)

When submitted, i got a feedback pop up request. Oh deep joy !! :D Had some fun

Can you tell from my rant, i have had this wonderfull experience just moments ago

Oh Feck. Should have ignored the Trust pilot stars and actually read the reviews DOH !

[ref]N4LLY[/ref], I thought you can only use your no claims on one car? Thus if you have two cars you need to build your no claims discount on each car separately.

I thought it was the person not claiming, not the car ?
I only drive one at a time, have no named drivers etc.

Anyway's looking forward to the responce and looking forward to taking the 40% hit and telling them to poke it.

Watching Martin Lewis, talking insurance now. Has some good tips

No, you need NCD for each car sadly!

When I got my first Z4 and a cheap daily my local A Plan managed to find me a policy with a company that would give me a 2nd policy that mirrored what I had on the Z4, so now I've got 2 full NCDs.

If you do end up cancelling that might be worth looking into. (Although I think A Plan have just changed their name).

Good luck anyway.

My understanding was one NCD per Policy.

Hhhmm. Appears that way. I have had up to 5 cars at one go before. Maybe the premiums were so low then
that made no differance. Will let this pan out and see where it goes. No way are they getting the chance to cancel me.
Ready to hit that cancel button. Then speak to Ageas who have the Z4.

With so many questions this post has provoked, wonder if it’s worth asking these same questions of our forum insurance agency?

I paid £330 last year £250 + £250 excess for 15,000 miles per year with esure, they wanted £560 at renewal. Going to the AA @ £460, it's obscene the amount of increase in insurance premiums being seen at present, blatant profiteering and there's nothing you can do.

Come to London and then compare insurance.

BMW flex has come in at £1150 a year and I’m thankful for that! Comparison sites were £2500.

If I moved 30 mins outside London I would only pay £650.
My insurance renewal quote is in. Up from £470 to £804. That's Admiral Platinum and seems excessive. I've shopped around and have been quoted £645 for a comprehensive package from Churchill. I could throw away a few features to get it closer to £600, but a 25% uptick is acceptable given the horror stories I've read about.
