Is one of my wheel bearings up the duff?

Out in the zed today for its' weekly exercise.
Topdown, backroads, nice and sunny. When outta nowhere - a distinct vibration from the right side and reflected in the steering too with a slightly wobbly wheel. Drat!

Wondering if it could be one of the wheel bearings on the way out, but not so fast Tonto! - my back tyres are down to the wear-markers and I've got some nice replacements coming next week. Wondering if the wear markers can cause a vibration too? I thought they were for just visual reference? no?

Have checked all surfaces for stones, nails, mice, clogs, small children, but everything clear there.
Any ideas? Any way to discriminate shot tyres from a shot wheel bearing? I suppose I could wait until the new tyres are mounted to see if it disappears....

Just when I thought everyting was under control

Jack it up and give the wheel a spin and see if you can hear it, then grip it at 3&9 then 6&12 and see if there is any play / movement.

Only way to check without stripping it down.

Stuart

Have you jacked it up? Any noise or roughness when you spin the wheels? Any play in them when you try to wobble them? Check for damaged components in the suspension as well.

Stuart got his reply in just ahead of me

Thanks chaps. Storm in a teacup however.
Jacked it up, wheel off, bit of a brush clean, wheel back on, bolts tightened. Quick razz down the road. Vibration's gone!
Weird. Maybe it was slightly misaligned last time I put it back on or summat. Dunno.
Will keep an eye on it but thx for suggestions

Up the duff = pregnant :? Or does it mean something different over there?

I dunno. I'm progressively losing my english vernacular and grammar the longer i'm here in Holland!
I think i was trying to think of 'on the fritz' or something lol

Ha - no problem Chris, not trying to be pedantic, just thought I might learn something new, and according to Urban Dictionary, it has evolved to also mean 'serious, unforeseen consequences...' so I 'spose I should have checked first
Anyway, glad to hear the mysterious wobble's disappeared, or perhaps you just sobered up  .
