Is new Z4M coming?

Also the new AMG version of the SLK will still have a V8, maybe even turbocharged, so the extra ponies and kudos of the V8 might be a necessity.
New SLK AMG confirmed as a V8 and with 415bhp :sweetheart:

Suppose it needs the power increase to cope with the forthcoming z4M with the V8 :o

actually ive changed my mind, i really cant see this happening, the car would be crazy expensive, the v8 will die in with the M3, bmw have said that themselves, remember the e85/6 did not sell anywhere near as well as bmw thought, why?? cost, it was just to expensive, it is infact one of bmw best cars for a very long time, it just seems to have slipped under the radar alittle, i just cant see bmw making the same costly mistake again, put simply a V8 z4m just isnt feasible, i would love one but if it happens man....... ill be buying one for sure.

I thought sales of the Z4 exceeded their expectations, and it was the Z3 that was bad. Look at how many they sold, not bad really

I was at Mosport International Racetrack at the end of August 2010 for the American-Lemans race series and met the drivers of the BMW M3 factory GT- series cars at a photo shoot. They told me the Z4M with the V-8 would be made and that it wouldn't be too long in coming.

A bit more positive news. i cant see BMW not doing another Z4M- whether V8 or not is the question, with the 35is performance matching or slightly better than M, it will be interesting to see what they do whether they decide do the V8 and then permanently stop the Z4m. I cant see them squeezing more performance of the 6s.

i can see then doing a 370bhp version or the current Is motor which is a simple tune away from that type of power, the i6 twin turbo can make 400hp on stock turbos, so if their is a z4m i b et my bottom dollar it uses the new 1 series motors which is a tuned 35is engine.

New emission regulations might mean V8M might never happen but u never know- someone from BMW is paying attention to these forums alike and make them. I wish.

Not seen any existing Z4M owner move to a 35is. The new cars are just not up to M level, so there is definately scope of another M as otherwise where can M owners move on to next?

My thoughts exactly. As aesthetically nice as the inside/outside of the E89 is, no variant can match the ceremony of the M (yet, hopefully)

How's that for some positive insider info ah  .

Just hope it's a coupe and not a hard top vert..........
