Is my signature pic going to offend people?

...it's nothing at all to do with a sense of humour or not it's to do with what's appropriate to the cause that the thread is linked to.
Which is exactly why I asked the question... the last thing I wanted to do was to turn people away from the cause that I was trying to draw their attention towards.

My sense of humour is, shall we say, 'robust', I don't take offence very easily and forget that other people can be a bit more 'sensitive' about what is, and is not, appropriate - sometimes I just need to get a bit of a sanity check to ascertain if I'm not just crossing the line but taking giant strides over it...

Anyway, all's well that ends well - now, everyone, if you haven't donated yet.... :poke:

So when one mad person says to another that they're sane, does that make one of them sane or are they still both insane. The reason I ask is that I think you have a great sense of humour and I wish you changed it back to the original (or at least send me a link to where I can get a copy)

Lol, 3 pages to discuss gratuitous teddy pics, this forum is way too polite :)

...I hope appropriate precautions were used in the first 2 pictures to prevent the spread of std's (soft toy diseases)

Firstly we need a benchmark for 'sane', and I don't think we are going to find it on a thread thats voting on pictures of people faking copulation with a giant teddy bear :crazydude:

People should just be grateful I didn't post the pictures of Zedward getting his BSC wax...

Pictures, come on Marlon it was only one picture... in the second picture, the lady was just having a cuddle...

(and how do you know he was faking it?)

and I know that I'm sane, it's just the rest of you buggers, as for the pictures, the first was a little risqué, but as we all know a teenage boy will screw practically anything, may I remind you of a certain thread on socks :poke:

and what also surprises me is that them are concerned with a 14 yr old girl reading the thread but don't give a hoot that your sons might read it and most likely encouraged to too.

As a previous poster stated, you can't hide the nature of the forum, its members are adults, with themes and humour that follows, watering it down changes its dynamics and it will be the poorer for it

Sars with respect you're missing the point completely, your statement above is, IMO, 100% correct, keep the forum as is, however, this thread is dealing with one single item only, the charity run image, NOT the forum, and as the nature of the charity is well known now, the problem is with the suitability, or lack of it, from the image we're talking about, that is all. By setting the run and thread up you are inviting people onto the forum who probably would'nt normally read a car forum, and therefore as it is a charity run for a young girl with a family I think the run thread should remain neutral and without a risqué image to it so that family members, grandparents etc, can read the thread without seeing a possibly un-tasteful image. As I said if anyone then strays off the charity run thread and reads anything else on the forum then they have to accept what they see, like it or not, but the charity thread only should IMO remain neutral. And what's the problem anyway? What is wrong with keeping that thread alone 'BBC'? Keeping it neutral takes any risk away, no-one is wondering if the image should be there or not, it's a hassle free thread that Lauren's friends, family etc can look at without any potential problem. It's the old KISS theory, keep-it-simple-stupid. It's not going to hurt anyone here to have a clean thread, and it favours the forum if people read the thread without any potential offence.

Perry's and other members pics, posts, jokes etc are part of the forum and in no way should be watered down, as you say the forum is adult based and I'm all for pushing the rules to the edge, it's great, keep them all over the forum, just not on this particular thread.

Not a rant, not having a pop at you, I shall say no more. (Thankfully..!! )

I shall try to control myself on the charity thread(s) but behave as (ab)normal anywhere else...

Argh, I am agreeing with John-e89 here. Must be getting soft

I appreciate that we are all different and no I don't believe I have missed the point that others have made, I just believe that people have a choice and we as individuals don't have the right to enforce what is or is not appropriate, as this is down to personal taste, though I do of course advocate the censorship for and on behalf of our own children.

We have moderators to decide what is and what is not appropriate for this site and for me they do a terrific job, balancing the tone exceptionally for this fabulous forum and I respect their decisions. As such I feel that if the moderators thought that offense may be given with a particular reply, given the nature of the thread, they would have intervened as is there purpose to do so, not ours

You're not giving them a choice though are you, by putting that image up it means if anyone wants to view the thread they see a potentially inappropriate image like it or not, that's not a choice. The only choice they have is to read the thread or not and if they do want to read it and click on it it's too late, they've seen it, that is'nt choice. I just cannot understand what the problem is not having an image of that nature on that thread, just don't have it, simple, take any doubt away, there's plenty of space on the rest of the forum for that, it's simple logic. The mods are human and if they did'nt see any problem with Perry's image for that thread then no disrespect to them but I don't agree with them.

ONE thread only has to stay clean, that is all, it's easy.
