Is multiple owners an issue?

I'm in your camp Jellybaby38. I've been looking for a 3.0 and have discounted a few with a high number of owners. My thoughts are that if they only have it as a toy for a year or two they will have enjoyed it a little too much and then passed it on. Only my view, no experience

I bought a two and a half year old MGZT with a "few owners" - originally a "static demo" vehicle (owner #1) bought by a regular customer as a gift for his wife (#2) he got very ill so she spent her time caring for him and never drove it, got better, then she died and it transferred to him (#3) he didn't want to drive it and sold it back to the dealer who was going to use it as a car for his salesmen (#4) but during this time MG went pop so the dealership changed over to Mazda and would let them use non-mazda vehicles - I saw the car and wanted to buy it on finance but didn't have ID (I was on holiday) but my wife had ID so bought it (#5) and I transferred it into my name (#6) it'd only done less than 600 miles so went for its first Mot with only around 3k on the clock.

If the history is OK don't sweat the numbers

As it's the first owner that's most important, running in process, initial care and protection of the paint etc, the cars condition has somewhat been set, after that they all pretty much the same and judged by condition and history file. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush"
