Is it the exhaust flap I can hear?

Only noticed it with the roof down but as revs rise I can hear a sort of sucking noise followed by a metallic ting
It seems to happen around the time the auto box changes but not quite at the same time

Is the flap in the exhaust opening and closing (the one the golf tee mod deals with)?
 
Flap opens (when warm) only above certain throttle settings, rpms (2,500?0 and modes..AFAIK it doesn't keep opening and closing per gear shift..sounds like a fault :thumbsdown:
