Where do you guys get the antenna from?

Cheers

this is the one I bought, yet to test though.

For antenna, any that has an SMB-F connector must work. BMW does have a standard part but I remember it was disgustingly expensive from the dealer, something like $100 or so.

Yes, I paid $140 I think. You know if you're doing this mod and dumping $1500 (or $3900) on it I don't think $140 will make a big difference.
I can tell you one thing for sure. It worth the money. + I'm sleeping better at night knowing that it's the original part.

I paid £10 for the antenna, magnetic and worked 100% fine. All from ebay of course (brand new)

Ok so I started with a test today, connected everything to the harness and the harness to the white socket in the back of driver seat. The radio comes on ok but the nav computer and the screen are completely dead. Even the fan on the back of the nav drive doesn't come on. Obviously no power is going to those parts. What could be the problem? :(

Did you ground the earth wire behind the drivers seat, and are the two wire for the head unit connected correctly?

Are the DVD drive and monitor known to be working correctly?

I haven't grounded it! Where is it grounded?
Also, I am not sure that the parts are working otherwise but I bought them separately so I don't think it's likely that neither's working! The monitor is new.

Ok, a few things.
Make sure your ground wire(A3)(brown wire) is connected to the body of the car.
Mare sure that everything is connected. Including two wires (A7 and A8)( yellow/red and yellow/brown) that go into black socket housing PIN5 and PIN11
If everything is connected and it doesn't work try to take the fuse(A9)(7.5A)(came with the harness) out. You might not need it.
Oh yes, make sure your navigation computer is grounded too.

See Connection overview here(page 3):

PVR & DHK

can you just confirm all the DVD mounting frame components already exist in the car.

thanks

You would bolt down these brackets(I had to buy them) M,N

to here

In the UK, the brackets are already in there. The DVD unit just slides in. You have all the parts you need

I finally finished it! I started yesterday but the dash hole took a whole and I finished today. Thanks to everyone who helped, specially PVR and SUPER SPECIALLY DHK! I couldn't have done it w/o DHK's continuing help!

As for the support brackets, they were not installed in my car and it took me a while to figure out the order :)

Does anyone know how or where to get this whole system, I'm from Aus and the prices from the dealer are ludicrous.

This guy often sells complete sets as well as individual parts:

I bought my head unit from him and I know he'd go as low as $1900 for the whole thing. Of course it'll cost less if you buy parts separately from different sellers....

If i buy a range rover MKIV sat nav computer is there anyway to stop the range rover logo coming up when it turns on and replace it with the bmw badge?
