Is It Normal For New Pads To Score New Discs?

My front brake discs were badly scored and I was told they wouldn't pass the next MOT on October.
There was plenty of meat left on the pads but I replaced both discs and pads yesterday with Brembo Discs and Brembo pads.
I went for a ten mile test drive and it feels a bit like the pads are constantly rubbing lightly against discs and there's now light scoring on both discs.
I noticed the pads were quite tight when I mounted them but I did make sure to clean and lightly grease the grooves the pads run it, and the edges of the pads themselves to hopefully make sure they slide ok, so I'm a bit confused why they should be rubbing.
Is this normal until the pads 'settle in' or is there a problem somewhere?
Many thanks in advance

I'm No expert on these things but I changed my discs and Pads (albeit not with Brembo) some 4000 miles ago and they still look perfect. From your pics something looks definately wrong.

Pad the wrong way round, somehow got both pads on the same side of the disk, friction material fallen off - I’ve seen all of these.

I’d say that disk is knackered though.

That looks bad. Hopefully get the disc. off and skim it. Or another new disc. Something is badly wrong to cause that so quickly. On that close up, the whole surface of the disc looks like it has overheated. Hopefully not as bad as those pictures make it look.

Something is fouling against the disk, check the pads have been put in correctly and take a look at the spring rattle clip is clear of the disk surface and not rubbed against it causing that scoring.
