Is it just me?

 Mostly Holland. Sometimes UK.
Or is the Z an idiot-magnet?

Been experiencing so much inappropriate and untoward aggression from other road-users in The Netherlands recently.
As some of you know, I'm currently based over here in Holland. It's a lovely place and the people, by and large, are lovely.
But out on the road......farky nell!

I've encountered some quite serious incidents recently where one of those has resulted in fisticuffs between myself and the aggressor, albeit I was on my bike at the time and not in the zed and another has resulted in damage to my car due to an impatient mum-type deciding to not wait for me to pass a chicane when I had right of way.

It's really beginning to boil my piss. So much so that the last tw@t that decided he was going to tailgate me while I was manouvering into a parking space received the full fury of my indifference when I caught up with him in the supermarket we were both heading for.

Fk letting things go. When someone else puts you in a situation where damage, an accident or even death could have been a distinct risk when there was no need I'm going to make sure that either remonstration, the law, my fist or retribution play a part.

I fkg hate people atm! :headbang:

I was chatting to a female high court judge we know a few months ago, I was moaning about all the layabout benefit scroungers etc, and her response was you simply have to accept the benefit system is needed because such a large percentage of the population are thick as f**k....her words, not mine...

I’m guessing you’re just one in a good few million to experience that fact Chris....

My my John, you do move in the higher echelons of society don't you! lol
It's some consolation/qualification to relate these incidents to friends, family and associates who all easily relate and empathise. Goes some way further to hear that a high court judge recognises that some form of socio-economic controls and measures, i.e. the benfits system goes some way to effect some much-needed control over the lower echelons.

The worrying part is that these "thick as f**k" people are having kids, so it's only going to get worse! :headbang:

So John was brown nosing a judge and she dissed the Jeremy Kyle show

Had one 2 days ago where an audi a5 convertible driver decided he would take a roundabout on the wrong side, without slowing down whatsoever, on a blind curved part of road, so I couldn't see him at all until I began to turn left and saw his audi on the wrong side of the road, coming towards me.

Slammed my brakes on and just raised my arms in disbelief.

I then heard him calling me a complete prick  I pointed to my dashcam and he went full retard whilst we were both driving. I haven't checked the footage, but I imagine it has caught his mental outburst

The funny thing is he slowed right down and drove normally when I assume he thought I was following him. He then turned off just before my road and as he drove away he shouted prick again 8)

What a sad little man.

Done a terrible drawing to explain. As you can see, he clearly doesn't understand basic road rules.

That resonates with my dizzy impatient chicane mum-b!tch and her obviously higher level of entitlement to disregard basic rules of the road.
It's almost like you're in the wrong in their eyes for driving correctly.
The fact that she drove off, categorising her as a hit and run driver only underlines the sense of entitlement in these people.
fk them all. I'm not standing for it anymore.
Your Audi guy obviously knew he was driving like a dick but in his eyes 'fk you' for driving correctly.
Bizzarre.

[ref]ben g[/ref] it's bizarre that all of the biggest idiots - who are completely in the wrong - seem convinced that it's everybody else who is idiotic and rude. I find I become aware of the dim-witted majority I share this country with when I have to use motorway service stations. You see them all trying to push open doors that say PULL on them, scraping their bumpers on the kerb as they park up, walking straight out of the toilet cubicle without washing their hands and into WH Smith to rootle through the pic n mix containers...it's scary!

Sorry, but that is suggesting that it works both ways. Does it? :o Calm down you lot.

Lots of idiot drivers on the roads, the worst ones holding on to anger and getting in fights about it

I'd like to think that "completely in the wrong" is a black and white, non-subjective position of wrongness that doesn't work both ways (e.g. Audi driver going around a roundabout on the wrong side of the road)

Get a Hyundai, people leave you alone and think you're a pensioner, driving becomes alot less stressful. In the BMW I'm prey for anyone.

Being Dutch and having lived there, the US, Switzerland and France I have concluded that the most aggressive drivers out of those four are in fact the Dutch. I don't know about the UK, but having watched loads of motorcycle mishaps youtube vids, it seems UK drivers could be on par, or close to, the Dutch. Whereas here in LA, with all of its crowded and congested traffic, you rarely see an aggressive, entitled or impatient 'move'. I was just commenting to my son as we were navigating the traffic how patient US drivers generally are. Compare that to for example Djakarta or Dhaka, where the honking is permanently in the air. So there are some major differences between countries.

Tim.

What if you are a pensioner/old git in a Z4? What happens then?
