Is it just me or do M car look worst than standard???

SO am I right in saying you get with M cars....

a new steering wheel
front bumper
gear stick
and obvs a bunch of m badges chucked about (rims, steering wheel, door sill)

now the gear stick yes I get it looks much better than the standard plastic thing, (but an easy swap)
the front bumper on the M is a little more angular, but perhaps less sleek?
and the steering wheel it seems, its just all leather, but the standard one has matching trim,
so if anything looks a little more custom for this car ,

Or am I forgetting M suspension?

No it isn't  on the 89s if i was looking there's no way id pay over the odds for Msport spec , the rear valance is just a laugh :P the front bumper is only relevant in certain colours ( lighter shows off the more aggressive profile better imo ) , the Se steering is perfectly fine & the Se suspension is also fine , so providing the car has sport seats ( & ideally 19s though that's a easy sort ) then id go Se all the way & trouser the 15/20% overcharge for the kudos & pub braggery :poke: :D

As with all things in life. Buy the one that appeals to you most. Not one that you think others will like.

if you like an SE, buy an SE. Simple.

I was thinking of the e85,e86 comparison.opps

Personally, don't like the rear bumper, retro fitted on my car, but will be going back to the standard soon, if anyone interested in a Orion silver bumper. Like the front bumper. Don't like the steering wheel, looks cheap, without the silver trim.

Its all down to personal preference.
Try to find 2 almost identical cars, one SE and one M Sport, and sit them next to each other and see what looks better.
Time will tell though with people who own SE spec cars looking to fit M sport parts just like owners with E85s fitting M bumpers.
I think the suspension may be different too.

Easy mistake as there is no E89 M ...

I think the M style e89 looks more aggressive than the SE version giving it more of a sporting character.
I spose I would say that though as I have one! There's a reason they command a premium as they are more desirable I guess? :?

Lots of confusion as to what is being asked here - the giveaway is that its posted in the E89 Z4 Discussion (2009+) board

It is quite funny that all the people who have been confused have not mentioned the engine.

I think the M-Sport front bumper improves the aggresion, but the rear end as long as it has twin tail pipes exiting on the LHS and RHS is enough to to look good.

Thanks to our neighbour going out and buying a Z4 identical to ours in every respect, other than it is not an M Sport, I am in a great position to compare the two. To my eyes, and also his, the feeling is that his 'standard' car looks rather bland compared to our M sport.

He says he would have preferred the M sport version but is a self confessed tight wad. :)

Id agree on all other models like 1s ,3,s ,5s & but none of those have a rear valance designed by a braille school

Not sure why not as the whole E89 rear has been designed there as well ...

I think it suits some colours well. I wasn't so keen on the bumper on my DSB 23i but I do much prefer the Msport rear end of my current grey one. Each to their own
