Is it dead??

I've been toying with the idea of swapping for a 35iS, but I never buy new, always about 6 months old from a BMW dealer (saving myself £12-15k in the process).

However, there are almost no 35iS available. It it a 'dead car' now? - i.e. little demand and something new coming soon?

I don't see an E89 M on the horizon yet. Any insight into what's the story with the iS? :)

That's an interesting perspective. No cars for sale means they're dead/undesirable?

My view is that there are very few in the UK and their owners are happy with them therefore no stock for sale. The low stock and low number of cars for sale will keep the is prices higher despite them actually being little different from the 35i.

Only 2 x 35iS models available nationally as AUCs currently compared to 13 x 35i models, both the 35iS models have limited options specified or a less desirable interior colour scheme.

I think it's more down to supply and demand, it's summer and sunny at the moment so roadsters are in more demand and there will always be fewer of the top specification cars available second hand.

As per Manic, the 35i is a better buy second hand, more choice, cheaper purchase price.

Why not have a look a the new 135i M utter bargain around the 29K mark :) compared to the 2.0 Z4, if it had been released when I was looking at the Zed back in Feb it would have been on the shopping list.

As mentioned with the 35i Z4 there is simply very few AUC's as very little numbers are bought in the first place.

35iS is a very rare Z4 here in N.I. Infact i've never seen another. Wife has a 1M and i've seen 5 others.

Mine is two years old in August 6k and is as new. There is nothing out there that compares to it right now and i'm very very happy with it now that all the niggles have been sorted.

Hope you track a nice one down. They are a great machine and worth the extra. So glad I swapped out my 23i for it.

When I ordered/bought mine in Oct 2010 i dealer said it was the first one they had done , I suspect that Maniac is right and most people dont think the largish price differance between it and the 35i is justified , he is certainly right about one thing I am very happy with it , its completely amazing :D :D

I think the 35is is decent value (relatively speaking of course) if you were otherwise going to buy an M Sport 35i with DCT, as it isn't that much more cash, and you get adaptive suspension included in the price too.

They are rare. Just don't think there is the market for a non-M at that kind of cash.

Wouldn't mind one though :driving:

yeah the 35is is a rare car and i expect that most people chose a decent spec 35i over it and then chipped theirs to get the power up and as such, not a lot were made/ sold

As a new purchase it makes sense and I would have gone for the 35iS if purchasing new. As an AUC, the few 35iS models available a few months ago were a lot more than the 35i models.

Very happy with our 35i and I expect I would have been equally happy with a 35iS.

Both models are great, just down to personal choice.

According to howmanyareleft 1771 35i 347 35is (i think iadded it up ok!) although 35i has been on sale slightly longer.
