Is flashing wrong?

I have a mate who used to have a Porsche... apparaently it's very common in those circles like a congratulating each other on choice of car! Sort of welcome to the club type thing. I always thought it was just sad!

I can vouch for the Series Landy Wave it's almost unheard of not to - I think it's the blessed relief of meeting another working Series Landy - and I know :D it's usually so slow you could exhange business cards. As for Z'ds :driving: the closing speeds are usually to fast :D

That's done in Pennsylvania as well but it is now illegal to flash your lights to warn on coming drivers of a radar speed trap.
When did this start?
About a 2 years ago as I recall...
The violation they will cite you for is illegal use of head lights or illegal use of a safety device. I understand that the state police have issued a few citations for this but I have not heard much about it lately. This has been contested as a "Freedom of Speech" issue but I believe was not successful. I also read somewhere that in Canada the police tried issuing tickets for this as well and it was fought successfully in court.

I'm in Canada and always flash my lights if I know there is a speed trap. One route home almost always has a cop sitting there in one spot to catch people since they reduced the speed limit from 80 kph to 60 kph. If I take that way home from work, I'm flashing my lights a lot usually. I've never heard of someone being ticketed for it though.

I just nod in the same way as bikers here acknowledge each other, quick and discreet, that way you don't feel a complete tit if there's no response  can't wave safely anyway, not since I had my left arm chopped off :D

Some of you need to lighten up a little. It's just another way to say Hi for pete's sake. I think the world could use a little more friendliness!!!!

That's what i told the judge. He said it was illegal, and that if I was flashing anyway, doing it in front of an elementary school was just wrong!

i waved to other Wrangler drivers when i was driving one... Its a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand ;)

but on any other car, I ignore everyone lol

Too many wranglers in Detroit area. You'd never stop waving/flashing. Very common. :D

I have a Jeep Liberty which is even more common.
