Bit off random question, as I realise that very few E85’s ever had mudflaps fitted.... however my latest E85 was first owned by an elderly gentleman who spec’d BMW mudflaps from new.
On the plus side, I’m only the third owner and it’s an Si on under 30k miles... so it’s likely to be a keeper for me (Famous last words!!)
I’ve got a set of Bilstein B4’s and Eibach pro springs (along with new top mounts) ready to go on, but I’m concerned the bloody mudflaps are going to catch on speed bumps etc.
Now, I could remove the mudflaps... but this would mean paintwork as they are screwed into the plastic arches
I’m not completely against going down this route, but I’d want the paint doing properly which means hassle and cost etc, so it’s obviously easier and cheaper to leave them fitted.... if they’re not going to rip the rear bumper and side skirts off
