Is a new gearbox a solution for the "well known" problem???

My Roadster S has a notchy 1st to 2nd shift. I think that's also a ZF box.

I complained to the dealer when I bought mine and response was that all Z Roadster Gearboxes are notchy, not the best is it? Ultimate driving machine????

It's not the notchiness that's the problem, it's the crunch between 1st and 2nd gear...

Yep that was my complaint first to second, very annoying! Putting up with it sems to be the only option.

mine is a bit notchy 1st to 2nd too dont think its going to break though just a characteristic of the gearbox ( my Rover v8 was much worse even after a rebuild)

It's not that bad!

Weighted short shift know helps, but personally i got used to it in about a week, and barely even notice it. Certainly no need to "fix" it
