Irritated by snagging seat belts (Coupe)

I think this is particular to the coupe - Anyone experienced/resolved the issue where by the seat belt won't retract when you have the seat very/far back? I have to have it as far back as it will go and like it low so that I can see stuff in the rear view mirror. I find the seat belt is then prone to twisting & snagging which is driving me crazy.

The passenger one has never retracted properly but this one is worse....

I'm not tall but always struggled to see backwards a decent distance on the motorway without stooping my neck, was the most annoying thing about a perfect car - sitting normally a car would have to be right up my arse to see it fully.

Not had this problem, mine retracts just fine but I've had my Coupe just over a year now and suddenly in the last couple of weeks the inertia reel in the belt keeps locking when I try to belt up.

Given the volume of the "not-belted" alarm this is getting to be a right PITA!

I have exactly the same in my roadster too.
It's fine with the seat forwards, but all the way back and it won't retract at all. I end up reaching back to yank it back through manually!

The mighty BMW R & D department engineers in another ridiculous quirky 'feature' as though they were building a 1950's sports car!

My drivers seat belt never use to fully recoil, I took the plastic cover off where the belt slides in.the belt then moved freely, so cleaned it all up and refitted plastic cover and works a treat

Do you mean where the seatbelt disappears in to the bulkhead or the clip on top of the seat?
