ironX or bilberry ?

On wheels? Not impressed with either as my previous cleaner cleaned the wheels whilst Iron-X and Bilberry does basically nothing on my (just muddy) wheels by the looks of it.
 
they are different products which do different things... so not really a case of one or the other...

bilberry is a wheel cleaner.

iron x is to remove iron contaminants on both wheels and bodywork.

I don't use either mind you, I prefer Autosmart Smart wheels and Wolfs Deo gel.
 
I personally find bilberry totally useless? I've tried different dilution amounts and still not impressed

Very impressed with Iron X on body work and on wheels with cakes on braked its but it's not a everyday wheel cleaner. Is use it every 6months or year all over car
 
Use both - Bilberry, but not very often now on #108 (layers of rimwax and regular washing keeps the wheels clean) but use it on the wife's car. Iron-X when i'm cleaning the wheels before/after storage and before multiple coats of wax.
 
Exactly the same here. Sprayed it undiluted on the wheels and it smelled nice, but did absolutely nothing.
 
Meguiars wheel cleaner is really good.
I've got some Bilberry which I'm using now but when it's all gone I'll use Meg's as it's better.
 
the bilberry does work, i thought it was a spray on and wash off type thing but it isnt. i find its a bit like snow foam, spray it on. leave it for a a 5 mins and then the crap comes off easier. used in conjunction with a decent brush its ok.

the ironX was suggested to me as an alternative PH neutral wheel clean and had the benefit of being able to be used elsewhere on the car for shifting brake dust and the like.

This ^

One is a wheel cleaner, the other is to remove fallout etc, so both would be used, although the fallout remover is not a weekly product, every few months perhaps, or 6 monthly.

Bilberry does work on my wheels.

About 30 minutes if you are lucky... that product is one of the worst things I've ever tried! :rofl:

Any recommendations for a wheel wax? I've got the poor boys one. It smells lush but I didn't notice any difference!!
 
the one that I've found lasted the longest is fK1000P, I got more than a few months out of that.

I prefer to use definitive wax Rotundas, this lasts a month or so.

I did tend to use ceramic sealants, but TBH, what I've found is nothing really lasts depending on the brake size/wheel config... the bigger the discs/caliper and heat, the less it lasts... especially if the wheels 'just' fit round the big brakes! lol

but, when all is said and done FK1000P is a decent high temp wax, can be used on wheels and bodywork, lasts for ages and is very well priced for the massive tin you get...
 
i tried a little experiment with my last bit of bilberry at the weekend, i did 2 wheels with it and just pressure washed 2 wheels without. it deffo did something as the ones with it were cleaner. it didnt get all the crud off but helped.

i then did the really dirty ones with it and a ez detail brush and that worked great.
