I was at a party the other day and the host and one of his friends were right into iRacing so I had a go . good fun, they had triple screens for a bit of peripheral view and a decent wheel with paddles , pedals etc...probably about $1500 worth of setup...

Any comments ?
I found it OK but missed the g forces of acceleration and cornering, also never did left foot braking before so couldn't get the downshifts working right (you have to brake with the left foot and blip the throttle with the right while pulling the paddle to get it to shift). Did manage a good 180 degree spin and a trip out into the grass . (I was the designated driver so I was sober, the others, not so much  ) My pal managed to roll his car up onto its side and also spun it out so many times the car got dizzy..

I race regularly on iRacing. I've be on-line sim racing since 2000 so have tried most of the sims.

iRacing is one of the best. It's on-line racing against other people experience is second to none. However, with it's monthly subscription, albeit with some heavy discount offers, buying of content (cars & tracks), again with discounts, and no AI it's definitely not for everyone.

Regarding the down-shifting. it does depend on the car. I tend to use 'auto-blip' which gets round the problem. Remember also that you can 'heel & toe' :)

Also the Z4 GT3 is an absolute blast :driving:

Hope that helps
