Further to my search to identify the fitting to use an ipod in the zed....

Are these all i need to use?

Its a 2006 z4,and i'm looking to get a 2nd hand ipod off fleabay to leave in the car.

My display on the dash shows i have no ipod connected,when scrolling through music options.

But i need to know what model of ipod will do the job
mmm-five reckons there may be a change at some point.

Sorry, I may have confused you/myself a little, as it's only the brand new ipods that have the new lightning connectors, but even those have an adapter to the 30-pin connector. Here's a little history to help.

My issue was that they changed the functions that the 30-pin connector does, so the older ones were able to use firewire (but no video), and the newer ones can do video (but no firewire).

The biggest bang for the buck will be the classic style ones (or a 1/2/3rd gen one with the small, spinning HDs in them) of 30gb+. Really depends how much you want to pay, and how much music you want to keep on it.

Looking for a 2nd hand ipod for my 2006 z4.
Ideally will leave it in the armrest ,as im assuming it charges itself ???

Will i need anything else to connect to car apart from the photo above ??
