iPod Retrofit Kit

Can anyone shed any light on the functions or a copy of the instruction manual for the iPod retrofit kit for E86. My vehicles got it fitted and I’ve plugged in an old iPod but the radio display shows every song as a track, just like playing a cd. It’s functions fine but is there anyway of getting your track names on the display. If anyone has an instruction manual for the retrofit that would help.
 
Which kit do you have?

The bmw one will not display ID3 tags.

The Dension one will with the correct firmware, as will an Intravee.
 
It’s the BMW kit, thought that might be the case. I assume I can only go forward and backward tracks like a cd?
 
Your best move would be to go android and fit a BT dongle to that Ipod connector.

this kit is very poor in functionalities
you can make 6 playlists naming them bmw1 bmw2 bmw...
and they will match respectively the buttons 1, 2, ...
this is more a cd emulator rather than an ipod interface
