ipod question

Sorry if this is already on here but I cant find anything specific...

I am looking to get an ipod (yes, in this day and age, I don't even own one yet  ) and have no idea what to get/where to go for the in car fitment.

I have an 07 coupe with pro sat nav, I went to autosounds newcastle to ask about it and the bloke just give me a load of jargon (which I didn't know what he was on about) then quoted £300 all in with steering controls etc.which I thought was a bit steep!

What I want to know is what kit is best for my car? whats the best set up for it? (seen some on here in glove box, ashtray etc) whats a reasonable price to pay and have it fitted (not a hope I could do this, not very technical!)

Thanks

search for ipod, dice, intravee, aux... loads on this :D

have you got the factory NAv system (Pro version with the pop up screen)?

yeah the factory pop up version. I searched ipod...couldn't really find anything specific.

I'll try the other searches....those words mean nothing to me :D

Gannet - clue in here? :P

Intravee without a doubt for the best integration though.

This says it all really:

If you have nav, some spare dosh and don't mind a little extra effort to fit then it's the Intravee all the way.

Otherwise the Dension Gateway or Dice are next best.

I've got this kit installed which is based on the radio frequency but isn't like the cheap nasty one's for £5.00.

Sound is perfect quality, not too expensive either.

Paid £80 installed.

have seen this in halfords and wonderd what the quality was like? would love to see a photo of where u have it mounted. I dont have sat nav so this would be ideal as i only have business cd so cant see track tags with intravee which i was thinking of.

I'll take some photos in the daylight and post them up. I have it mounted to the windscreen next to the drivers A pillar, the control wheel is mounted underneath the indicator stalk on the steering wheel column and the plug for the ipod in my glove box. No wires visible anywhere.

The control wheel is just like the same as the wheel on the ipod and what you see on the display is the same as on your ipod, so you can access everything, playlists, artists, etc....

It's hardwired in, but still uses the FM transmitter to play the music, hardwired for the display and it charges the ipod at the same time.

Here's the photos

That's really nice! Ipod, BT, Sirius and USB flash drives all in one. Had me sold on it, but it's discontinued and they're site only shows the much outdated version 1. Are they coming out with a newer unit?

Thanks for the photos , did u have to drill holes for the wires??? I have mine in the same place for the display and the control down near the gear lever but like where u have urs , may move mine. Can u tell me how much it cost to have it fitted and why did u not hard wire to the rca connectors?

cheers

Total cost, unit and installation was £60, I put the control where it is cos I didn't want to drill into the aluminium dash centre, so decided to mount it where it is.

I couldn't answer the RCA question as I don't know the answer, the bloke that fitted it said it was the best way to do it and it works fine so not got any complaints really. I'm more than happy with it.
