iPod Question

First foray into the world of MP3 players  - just bought a Nano. My question is this.

I love the 'crossfade' feature that is available in iTunes, so when playing a Playlist through my PC there is fade in/out mixing between tracks. Thing is, I don't seem to be able to achieve this when I transfer Playlists across to the nano.

I've scoured FAQs in the iPod forum and read and re-read the manuals, but there seems no mention of this which is a bit odd - I'd have thought it to be a common question/requirement! Am I doing something wrong, or, as I suspect, is this really something you can't do??!!

Cheers in advance for any guidance:)

hi,

not sure about fading, but i do remember my nano supporting gapless play across tracks once i did a software upgrade. So now rather than a noticable break between tracks it's more like a CD player where the next track continues seamlessly after the first.

I have to say that my Ipod video does seem to do it better than my Nano. Oh, and i'm talking about the second generation Nano by the way.

When i add songs to iTune i get a message saying something like "analysing gapless play" I think.

So my advice is to make sure you've updated your Nano to the latest software.

Just discovered it is not possible to do this (iPod forum, 30 minutes searching later)

Seems a bit daft if I'm honest, surely with people creating their own playlists, fading tracks together would be a logical feature, especially as you can do it in iTunes :scratchhead:
