Read many posts on this forum to connect the ipod to the Z4. I do not have the CD changer, But do have the premium sound.
OK, I own a 03 Z4 and need to integrate an ipod to the BMW Business Head unit.
I know BMW has a couple of choices for after factory ad on--what is best sounding, do you think the unit that BMW sells, that is installed in the glove box is the best choice?? I understand that you create 5 playlists in iTunes------BMW-1 thru 5 and 6 is used for the all playlist.

Then they have the Aux port?

What is best, putting money aside!

Thanks,
Bob

I have the aux port, never used the glove box...

Aux port iPod set up is great. Sounds great, no problems with it whatsoever. I would recommend using a longer wire on the plug.

Personally I have the Icelink Plus with the ipod in my glovebox.

Other recommendation from this site will include Intravee, Dice, and the AUX connection.

PVR will be able to inform you more about the Intravee kit.

Icelink seems to be going out of favour, although I have never had any issues with it.

Aux port can pretty much go anywhere you please. the instructions say to put it in the glovebox, later cars with it built in are located in the access panel beneath the air con controls (where I put mine first), and you can of course put it in the ash/coin tray...

I think the Intravee offers iPod connectivity for non-nav cars... That'll give you full iPod control and full access to your albums/artists/playlists/etc.

My aux wire comes out from beneath the air (conditioner/heater) controls. Far better than sticking it in your glove box... but still not the perfect solution.

I originally had my aux in the ash tray but with it plugged in you can not close it so I re ran the wire to a panel. I prefer to have the Ipod next to me so I can flip though songs. Some people have them in their glove box.

And also with Nav.

Icelink Plus with and without Nav also

As far as I know, the BMW iPod integration kit didn't work with premium sound on 03 Z4s. 2 years ago, I had the kit from BMW installed only to find out that nothing came out of the speakers. I went with Icelink Plus instead (it's discontinued, but there's a replacement unit by Dension).

I also have a 2003 Z4 with premium sound.

Thanks guys for helping-----I think I am going with the simple Aux. Appreciate the photos

Good luck brother!

But the radio is sub par compared to using the aux port for iPod and CD player - iPod sounds great out of the speakers.
