iPod MP3 connection

Not being at all tech. :? I want to be able to play an iPod or MP3 though the cars radio. I have a 2006 Z4 3.0Si with the BMW pop-up satnav/radio/single CD player built in and steering wheel controls. Looking for recommendations to someone who can supply and fit the necessary in the West Kent/South East London Area.

as for fitting it plugs into the cd changer cables in boot and thats it
 
No CD changer in boot :( single CD player integrated. I need a professional to do it for me :cry:

There's a chance the cables are hidden behind the carpet on the rear bulk head in the boot, they might be taped down, your looking for 2 plugs I think one has 3 wires an the other 6
 
The cables required will be there. I'd be happy to help you fit it as you're not too far from me.
 
So where do I plug in my mp3 if the set up is in the boot? Sorry but I am out of my depth here.
 
You can have a cable run into the cabin where ever you want. I have mine in my glove box. Others have in the centre console area.

Those are the connections you'd use for intravee which works well with navigation an iPhone ipod, you get some extra functions as well
 
look on build spec of yer car against yer vin plate itll say

S692A CD-Wechsler I-Bus Vorbereitung Preparation, BMW 6-CD changer I-bus

means cables where pre installed
 
Buy a aux lead off of eBay very easy to install I got mine from this guy so so easy

Thanks biojo I have that on my build spec. Thanks Bmwjay I've taken the plunge and ordered that aux lead, hope I can install it without outside help :thumbsup:
 
Your age and spec of car I'm surprised it doesn't already have an Aux in. I thought was standard on 3.0Si.
You have checked on the panel above the buttons for heated seats, run flat reset button etc to check its not already there?

I have factory fit aux in. Seemed to work fine when I had android phone but is kak for my iPhone. Have to turn both phone and stereo volume up max for crummy hissy low volume sound. Ended up getting intravee anyway.

Aux in comes very poor second to the intravee (Neatness, better sound, integration with steering wheel controls and screen). If you plan to keep the car for any length of time do yourself a favour and just go straight for the intravee.

Aux only standard on MY2007 cars onwards, so cars built after October 2006ish.
