grrrrrr

I have two ipod leads that worked fine in my last two daily drivers (fords). correct leads with usb and 3.5jack

neither work in the zed, it simple sees the ipod and then grunts - 'use the correct bmw lead' at thirty five bloody quid each!!!

grrrrrr

any solution (we need two, new 3 series arriving on Saturday)

cheers

You can buy cheap ones from eBay but someone else on here complained of them buzzing.

I spent my money on the official BMW lead. It works.

I think you can use a normal apple lead if you plug it in the glove box USB sockey , not tried myself however

Nope, think you need the USB and the phono jack, with the E89 anyway.....

Agree totally.Having bought a £2.99 combo from Amazon with disastrous results, poor sound quality and hiss.I now use the Apple lead for the USB connection and a separate, high quality, mini jack lead for the phono connection. This is for an E89 with connectivity pack in the centre arm rest.

Yep I've got two cheapo leads, iPod connector at one end and USB and 3.5 mm at the other. Worked perfectly in the ford but the zed just moans about it being a non BMW lead

I've even tried the genuine iPod lead and it moans about that one too

I just picked the Mrs up from a meal with her friends and tried the apple white cable with an ipod classic in the glovebox and it didn't work....tried it in the armrest and it worked perfectly this is a older apple cable with a 2011 z4 with the com box and I drive but it worked with sound and with stereo control, even got a BMW logo on the ipod

strange....the apple cable works better than the BMW cable for me as the album art works which it doesn't with the OEM cable.

what year is your zed and what options do you have?
