iPod issues

My coupe has an iPod adapter fitted in the glovebox which has been wired in in place of the multi-changer however when using this the left speakers are fine but nothing comes through the right hand speakers other than occasional interference. Both speakers work perfectly for the radio and for the dash cd player. Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Just to confirm this isn't juast an AUX socket but the BMW or dension offering.

I would say a loose connection somewhere or the interface has an issue.

No it's not just the socket, it been installed by the dealer as an integrated alternative to the multi-changer and can be controlled via the audio functions.
