ipod for Z4 in UK

Ive still yet to find out what exactly I can and cant buy...

I have a prefacelift with carver hifi.

Which should I buy - i.e. which will work!?

Struggling here myself

I have a Professional system with no SatNav and DSP. Had plumped for the Dension but after reading this thread it appears I can't go down that route. Anybody got any ideas of what I can do please?

I wanted bluetooth to my phone and ipod input.
I bought and fitted a parrot kit MKi9200 £140 and it does both!!!!!

Brillient bit of kit. super quailty phone conversations.
Works well with my ipod touch.
brill value.
had literally the intire interior apart to install it as i put the ipod connection in the cubby box between the seats.
oh and the voice recognition is unbelievable. i didn't have to record the voice commands, it can understand me just be reading the types names in the phone book and it's only ever struggles on one name - Xiaopei (shahpay) but i'll forgive it for not getting that one. Doubt you'd have got it either :poke: :)

Now that looks like an interesting bit of kit. Will it work with my set up?

I think I'm in the market for one of these and if you can tell me that your stereo doesn't need to have bluetooth (I've a regular business stereo) then I think that'll clinch it! =)

does the intravee only render the dsp useless for the ipod or also for the cd changer and radio ?! will i have to remove any trim to plug into back of auto changer... ?

"had literally the intire interior apart to install it as i put the ipod connection in the cubby box between the seats. "

that was quite scary to read as I know if i do it myself, I'll be sure to have 'spares' after. Hunting around a bit though, I see you can get it fitted for you here:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/car-kit-installation-premium-p16396.htm

It's £130 and I haven't checked my local chap to see if he can fit it for less but a lazy type like me, the idea of someone coming to me to fix it up while i'm in work sounds pretty good ;)

oh yes, and would i need a "bmw interface" part (i'm sure i've seen it mentioned here somewhere)?

ta!

No. The bmw radio doesn't need bluetooth mines standard business radio too. It's hard wired into it, but because bmw don't use standard iso connectors you will indeed need bmw interface adapter... something similar to this.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-3-5-X5-Mini-X3-Z4-Z8-01-05-Parrot-T-Harness_W0QQitemZ130300674439QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Terminals_Cabling_ET?hash=item130300674439&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A200

i've had this quite a while now. Still think it's great, i did find it crashed alot when i used it with the ipod touch however, i upgraded the software on the parrot kit (from the parrot website just save file onto usb stick and plug in) to the latest version and it's alot better!
