iPod connection

Please help!

I have just picked up a 2003 Z4 and it has had its ashtray removed to make way for an iPod connection. When I connect the iPod it gets power (so clearly the cable is connected to something) but I cant figure out how to play the iPod through the stereo. Any offers?

For reference it has the Business Audio option with single CD in the stero plus a 6 cd Autochanger between the seats.

I am probably been very dumb but any help much appreciated
 
welcome,

cycle through the MODE selection on the radio while the ipod is attached andplaying something, see if AUX comes up and your tunes come out.

failing that trace that cable and find out what it is connected too. Always possible it is just a charger...

there are other options such as Bluetooth audio add ons that the previous owner may have installed...
 
you may need to create play list on your Ipod, Call them BMW1 to 6, then they will be selected via the 6 buttons on your radio
 
Thanks for the last reply - it appears that the dock that has been fitted is a radio transmitter that is tuned into preset 6 on the FM radio
