Ipod connection

I have just bought a 2.3 sdrive but has no sat nav .
What do I need to play music from my iPod using the steering wheel controls.
I have a parrot hands free that I used on my older z4 would I be better installing this because I can't seem to get the
Phone system already on the sdrive to work on voice command either

Non idrive cars have very limited voice function.

iPod control should be possible using a Y cable (eBay or Bmw) if you have a usb connection in the armrest storage.

No USB in arm rest only aux port

Then sadly it’s an iPod directly into aux without control.

Or retrofit a USB port, not easy or cheap though.

It's cheap enough, depending on budget, around the £150 to £250 for all parts (depending on the deal and seller) for that you get the OEM look and full steering wheel control.
