iPod connection with lightning lead

Hi, I have a 2010 model year 2.3i. When I connect through the USB connector the radio shows track info, I can change track using steering wheel controls but I cannot find how to select artists or albums. Also, iPod continuously displays 'connecting' logo and I cannot access albums etc from ipod. Works with aux lead but, obviously does not provide display on radio. Any suggestions gratefully received! :headbang:
 
There are different ones from the dealer. Its trial and error which is the correct one. If you have bought one off t'internet then it probably won't work properly
 
Thanks for that. I am using the Apple lightning lead and have now got it working. The trick was to insert the USB into the socket with the ignition off. Then switch on ignition and connect iPod. Only problem now is that I have to disconnect the iPod to be able to switch it off! Still, it's an improvement. :D
