iPod Classic - can you create Genius Playlists with iDrive?

Had a great drive down to and around Kent this afternoon with the top down and using manual mode (with the stick, as the paddles need fixing). Great fun and lovely to hear the engine. On to the question at hand...

Was not sure where on here to post this and have tried searching here and elsewhere. My iPod Classic 160 Gb works fine with iDrive. I have an older Classic with no Genius or On the Go Playlists. If I get a new one with these, any one know if I can use them via the iDrive? Eg if am playing a song and want to create a Playlist based on that could I do it?

And is there any way just to randomly shuffle your library with iDrive? Found this fudge here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50584

iPod can be shuffled using random feature in options.

You cannot create on the go playlists afaik.

Thanks Maniac. Found now you can assign the shortcut buttons to lots of things. Like Random http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=469267
I might get a new Classic so I can create Genius Playlists on the go which will be there when I plug it in to iDrive.
Will play around a bit before coming back with silly questions!
