Has anyone used a Belkin TuneCast Auto or similar device to connect your iPod to your audio system built into your Z? :? I guess the devise has a low power transmitter that finds a clear area on the FM dial and transmits from the iPod to the vehicle radio.

i use a fm transmitter with an iPod nano, no problems, you just need to turn the volume up on the iPod to full. Also found that if i turned off the "stereo" option in the transmitter i got better reception!

I've used two FM transmitters and got tired of always having to switch stations to get better reception. I was able to install the Aux Input Jack and the sound quality is great. See my response to your other post.

Good idea why didn’t I think about that first? As soon as I figure out how to put the 1979 Buick dash in the Z I will have it made.

WaZZZ - that Buick dash may be an improvement!

We have the most beautiful dash ever! DICE works for me just fine. I use it with nano and it works like a charm. Great qlty too.
My2c.

PS: Buick is a piece of :!: IMO

Thanks for the ideas Zed owners. I decided to try one today. I took it home, hookup was easy and it seemed to be a quality product, but it is a miserable piece of crap. It is a good idea and would have been nice as I have the same problem in my Z and my Mercedes as well as my truck. But this is not the way to go. Maybe in a few years someone will develop one that really works. The one I got not only was lacking technology wise, it had a short in the power supply so it was a no go either way. In the mean time I am looking to gather the necessary parts and put a permanent connection in my Z. Now for the Mercedes, well have you ever contemplated taking the dash apart on one of those beasts? :headbang:

Ouch - always sorry to hear about lessons like that. I have learned that way more than a few times through the years. I went for the DICE system in my car which does sound nice but the controls aren't as nice as when I had an iPod interface on an Alpine system in my last car. The AUX adapter is not quite as nice for sound quality but lots cheaper to install and will definitely sound a lot nicer than the FM adapter.
