iPod and iPhone disconnect from Aux when powered

Slightly odd behavious from my Apple gear. I was using my 160GB iPod Classic in the Zed connected to the aux port. It plays perfectly. When I connect it to my iGo power lead it reverts to the radio. You can reselect Aux, but it will randomly reset to radio. Figuring this might be a problem with a farily elderly iPod I put some music on my iPhone 4S and low and behold, exactly the same problem.

I'm guessing it's a power surge making it through the iPod and doing something that makes the radio think the aux cable has disappeared. The aux cable is a genuine BMW one.

Anyone else seen this behaviour? Guess I'll be buying an Intravee...

yes, used to happen on mine,

You need a 'Ground Loop Isolator'

I have one lying around my garage I could sell to you? I'll try and get some info links sorted if needed...

When u plug the power in, the iPod trys to play sound out of the dock possibly and the aux stops getting a signal and swaps back?

another option could be to get yourself an A2DP adapter which would stream the music over bluetooth. The adapter plugs in to the AUX cable... then you dont need any cables into your phone... Like this one:

A2DP Adapter

Bought one for our other car and works great

Agree about the A2DP adapter brilliant and so simple to use
