iPod Always charging - Normal?

Hi, not 100% sure what iPod connection kit is fitted to my car but was told its standard BMW. I have a standard iPod white lead inside the gloovebox and press "Mode" to turn on the IPod.

I've noticed that my iPod is always charging even if the car is off for hours / days!?

Just wondering if this is normal as to be safe I disconnect the iPod every time I use it which is a waste as I loose which song I was on last.

Hmmm I wouldn't of thought so

My dice stops charging when the engine is off and so did my alpine hu woth ipod adapter

Mine does that - it always says 'bmw' on the screen.

I couldn't drive the car for a month or more a couple of years back, it was parked all that time with ipod plugged in - caused no issues.

Yeah that's it benlumley, Mine says BMW on the screen when car is off. Just concerned I would end up with a flat battery

It's worth saying that the cigarette lighter is always on too - comes in handy for charging up phones

yup.. perfectly normal operation.
it runs off the same power circuit as the ciggy lighter.

it doesn't draw much current - especially when fully charged and can be connected for months without issue
