iPhone X and pairing

Sorry if this has been covered but a search turned up nothing...
Does the iPhone X pair with the Bluetooth on an E86? Getting a fail message on the phone - the car sat nav screen is showing the Bluetooth menu, the phone is seeing the car, but then does a pairing fail following the code being entered.
The code is from the original documentation so assume this is correct.
Any thoughts?

My iphone X pairs up just fine, but I do not have NAV just the Business Radio and 6 disc changer. (and of course the BT module!)

Wondered whether it was compatibility but sounds like it’s either me, the code or the car..
