iPhone with 53 plate bluetooth...

Hi all,

Apologies, I know this has been covered a million times before but I'm stumped... :x

I can successfully find the Bluetooth (F/F) in my car with my iPhone 3G - it pairs for about 3 seconds when the passcode is entered and then unpairs itself...

WHY?!?!?!?

Really sorry if there has already been an answer to this - I will buy beer for anyone who can solve!

Try
1 Make sure iPhone isn't already paired or partially ....clear ALL pairings from Car
2 Full reboot of iPhone
hold Sleep and Home until "close slider" appears IGNORE and continue to hold both buttons until Apple logo appears
iPhone will then do a full restart
3 Try pairing again
Definitely have the correct PIN ??
 
Thanks for getting back to me - delighted to report I have solved this now... Well, solved would probably imply it was a well thought through tactic, not so much. It involved me unpairing everything and ignoring the handbook's suggested approach. I selected 'Telephone' on the Sat Nav and instead of Bluetooth Pairing, I got Activate Phone - turned on BT and BOOM! Connectivity.

Am now on the hunt for a replacement centre rear brake light though - mine shattered whilst out on a drive yesterday :(
