Iphone or ipod connection with dsp?

I thought this would help out the guys that are planning to install an ipod adapter to their stock stereo system (z4 e85).
first before ordering your ipod adapter you must first find out if your car have dsp. DSP is a coaxial input from the BMW CD Changer into the factory amplifier. BMW may refer to this as "premium sound". There will be a button or a menu option that you can choose called DSP on your stereo. It allows you to choose different sound settings like Church, Jazz Club, Concert, etc.
this wed page will tell you more about dsp. http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/product/574/361/BMW-DSP-Adapter/
to get to the cd changer connector(6 and 3 pin)or (3 and coaxial for guys with dsp). http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8407 .if you don't want to take the center console off you can maybe on most but not all z4 can go through the trunk and locate the cut out where you can access the back of the center console storage box and tug on the wire harness and maybe get lucky and find it this way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHIfb0CW7cE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFFU2e85SfY .the youtube link is for an m series. those links, vids, and threads are not mine and i want to thank them for their information that help me do my install. hope this write up and helpful info will help you on your install also. all this work just to play my ipod hehe crazy. maybe you can find a company that make an adapter that tap up straight to the back of your stereo that would be so much easier. :)

Certainly in the UK the adapter won't be required on most Z4's with DSP as it was only the digital version that required the adaptor. As far as I know most, if not all, UK Z4's have an analogue DSP system.
