Hi, i cannot seem to connect my iPhone to the Bluetooth system in my car...

I have tried pressing the button highlighted in the image below and i have also tried holding down this button on the steering wheel for numerous seconds but nothing appears on the display of the radio and my iPhone does not pick up any device...

There is also a Nokia snap in cradle which is built into the centre storage compartment... could this be stopping it to work...

Anyone any suggestions on what i could try...

That's not the pairing button, but the talk button. You need to press the pairing button that should be on the central fold down flap.

can't be more specific as I retrofitted the bluetooth system to my Zed and fixed the pairing button in a different way.

Iphone4 's do connect well as mine is all functional

Are you referring to the centre storage compartment... running out to my drive in my bare feet now... :o

UPDATE: still no joy... what does the button look like...

Cool... thanks a million CJ & Mike... got it to come up on my phone now... just one small problem now, i don't know the code, i tried all of the usual, just text the previous owner and hopefully he will know it

It's on the Bluetooth unit under the carpet at back of boot, bit of a fag to get to but should be in and out in under an hour.

if the previous owner does not get back to you then 2 ways
1) as VvrooomN says (look at the vertical rear bulhead for the big recangular bulge. the ulf is under there
2) go to the dealer - they can tell you from records or pull to code from the car. Might charge you though

I got the code from the previous owner today... i tried to pair them... it accepted the code and i heard a beep through the stereo but

- the radio constantly has "pairing" displayed
- my iphone accepted the code but it still says not connected but it seems to be busy trying to pair...

Any suggestions on what i could try here... thanks

Have you rebooted the phone?

Do you have many contacts? It took a while - 10 mins when I first paired mine iirc.

Sorry to hijack the thread but can anyone answer this? When you get an incoming call does it give you the caller name on your nav screen or just "INCOMING CALL" which is what I'm getting...

Just deleted all paired devices and started it all over again... it has been running 35 minutes now... how long should it take... does the engine have to be running as i only have the ignition at 1 (lights / radio etc)

When i had a blackberry I used to get the called ID when receiving call but sadly with my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 I don't. I have a very early '03 car though so you might get positive responses from some members with a later ULF module.

Once you have paired the phone turn off the ignition and turn it on again, you don't need to start the car. Then select telephone and hopefully it should show the phone as connected. It took only about 5 mins for my contacts to populate

I just took out the manual again and missed one very important part (which you have also just mentioned w1phil), sorry all, i was leaving the car at ignition 1 after it said SUCCESSFUL as it only displayed for 5 seconds and then went into BT PAIRING again... so this time i switched off the car as soon as it said successful... sorry

So am i... thanks for all your help guys... just put my Mango Stubby on now too so smiles all round... :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
