iPhone compatibility

Has anyone got experience of iPhone compatibility with the Z4?
Mine seems to work ok alongside the Nav screen...
Downloads the phonebook ok, makes and receives calls ok, the only thing i have noticed is that text / sms messages aren't displayed on the Nav screen once they're received. In actual fact, you don't even get notification that a message has been received.

Interested to here of other peoples experiences. In particular, whether anyone has got the text messages to display on the Nav screen?

I had no idea that SMS messages were supposed to be displayed.

I have a Sony Ericsson and I do not get notification of IM's - never knew that I was supposed to be able to do that....

yeah SMS messages are displayed on the nav screen when using certain phone's. BMW has produced a list if you go to the BMW website and look around you should find it... I guess what I am trying to establish is thus... On the BMW compatibility list, the iPhone is said to be fully compatible from '07 reg z4's onward from memory.
Mine is an 06 and seems to work in every way except text (SMS) messages.
Is it possible to upgrade the firmware of the z4 nav system to get the SMS facility working as its said to on an 07 model???

No, it's entirely dependent on your phone compatibility with the bluetooth module which isn't capable of being upgraded without replacing it with the latest module at great expense.

I have a 09/03 Z4, and my iPhone works fine. I've never seen a phone work with SMS...
