iPhone call answering problem

On my 6, in the last two weeks I have had the following issue:

- Phone rings and I press the green answer button
- Answer button goes in the usual red button colour

But

The phone keeps ringing and I can not answer it. I keep hitting the screen, trying everything and sometimes it will suddenly get the usual display of the keyboard etc. I have rebooted the thing, I have upgraded to the latest release of the software but no improvement. It will not answer the call in the car either so via handsfree the issue is still the same.

Anyone heard of that one before?

Count yourself lucky.

Mine has been going straight to voicemail for the past week and a half. Don't get any calls, can't use 4g data anywhere and have to turn it off to switch back to 3g... pointless...

Not heard of your problem but fear it might be a phone call to your provider for diagnostics.

I had this, with EE. They informed me it was a 4G problem, so in general settings I changed it to do 3G only. This solved the issue. EE Contacted me about a month later to say they'd made changes on the network and to go back to 4G and its been fine since.

Hmm, I am on 4G here and I am also on EE.

Why would the data speed be related to a voice call though?

I have no idea at all. I thought it stupid advice.... until it worked.

I realise this is a bit off topic - I am considering getting an iPhone 6, does it come recommended?

I'm not a fan, I wish I'd stayed with my 5s . I find the 6 hard to hold, I've dropped it twice.

@pvr, did they do an iOS update around 2 weeks ago? If so they probably introduced a bug.

I would dump it on apple support either way and see what they say.

I did do an update yes, and would not have noticed it straight away as I do not get many calls on my mobile (read: no friends  )

DumfriesDik, I really like the iPhone 6 (normal version) as it is just the right size for me. The 4 and 5 seem so small to me now. Never dropped it and no issues having it in your pocket either. Not sure on the 6 Plus of course as that is way too big for me.

Yeah they probably introduced a bug then.. Guess you can wait till they fix it or ask support and get told to do the same :p

Can you believe that the first call today that came straight through was a PPI call

 Almost as good as me just spotting a 911-50 owner with a parking ticket at MK station :p

What, you guys get tickets for actually using a car park ? Weird...

+1 the wife on EE had the same issue occasionally.. when she restored her phone a month later it had a carrier update which fixed this issue.

Paul,
Can't help with the carrier update, but I've just this weekend paired my iPhone 6 to the Zed (on EE and 4G) and works a treat. Inbound and outbound working fine without issue. Strangely (it was actually the easiest I've ever paired a phone without the usual 10 efforts at getting all to work).

I did do an IOS update to 8.1.3 at the time of the restore.

iPhone 6 on order, and a Love Mei protective shell!

I still really liked my Windows phone, but there are two apps that I really need and can not get them on it. Its a lame excuse to have an iPhone, but its the best I can do.
