Iphone and CD changer...is it possible to have both?

Hi everyone,

Just bought a second hand Z4 and it has a CD changer in the storage compartment and, rather uselessly, a minidisc player in the front head unit. I want to connect an aux in so I can play music through my iphone, but would really like to keep the CD changer as well. Is there any way this can be done?

In fact, ideally I would like an iphone adaptor that will allow me to retain the steering wheel controls. However, I listen to most music on my phone through Spotify so am unsure if a fully integrated iphone adaptor will work?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aux will enable you to keep both but only provides you with a 3.5mm audio input located either in the glovebox or under the dash.

An Intravee, Dension or other iPod/MP3 interface will give you full integration.

AUX about £30

Intravee £150-£200 second hand.

All of the aux in kits I have seen require the CD changer to be disconnected?

Same when I looked, I'm interested to see the responses.

No, an aux in will connect into the block connectors on the back and will co-exist with a changer. You need to take the wires out of the block it comes with and insert them into the existing block. There was a thread on here with a diagram.

An Intravee, Dice, Dension etc will replace the cd changer
